For anyone who hasn’t heard of this film before its a film based around the “boy racing” scene. Men and women who have modified their cars in order to look and perform to a higher standard, enter races, place bets, and of course cause crimes in order to fund their expensive habbits.
With actors such as:
- Vin Diesel (Dominic)
- Paul Walkner (Brian)
- Michelle Rodriguez (Letty)
- And many more…..
Well the film starts by taking you through the life of Brian not letting you find out too much of what he’s about. They show him and his modded car racing around off road trying to perfect his driving ability. We later see him get into a race against the main driver, Dominic, who shows him how it is done. That race costs Brian his car which later ends up being totally destroyed by a rival of Dominic’s.
All of a sudden whilst Brian is working at a car part sales shop we see him driving the work van and being pulled over by police. They take him aside and appear to arrest him, although moments later we first realise that he is an undercover cop working to track down a group who have been ambushing lorries in order to steal the merchandise.
Brian bonds with members of the racing scene and in the end decides to let them get free and even helps them escape from the ambush on a lorry.
Has he turned to the racing side? Did he get a soft spot for Mia (Dominic’s Sister)?
I asked these questions to the workers of Gravytrain Limited and this is what they had to say.
Will: I think he knew he shouldn’t help them but he had true feelings for Mia and couldn’t stand by and watch her get hurt.
Rich: He enjoyed the racing life to much, he had to let them go, he saw them as his friends.
Rich and Will work at Gravytrain Limited and also have a great love for films.
Although my review informs you of the happenings in the film it doesnt really tell you my opinion, which to sum up is:
A good film but slow at parts, lacks any real sense to the film and I felt it ended to soon. There could of been so much more in this film and a lot more races.
I would give this film:

Thanks again.
